Specifically, Call Detail Records (CDRs) and live pings can be used to produce a visual representation of phone location data that is easy for analysts and investigators to understand. These records can also be used to develop a timeline showing a sequence of events or a subject’s pattern of life. Traditionally, event timelines and telecommunication analysis were performed separately, but new technology can provide a detailed, animated view of where and when events are taking place.
